Games

Designing games, building levels, and scripting sequences are some of my best skills. I primarily use Unreal Engine and Unity to make games.

Candyland (Project)

Princess Lolly of Candyland has infiltrated the castle of Lord Licorice in search of her father. Getting into the dungeon won't be an easy task, however, and there's more going on in the castle than the Princess realizes...

A non-linear interactive game I designed and built in Unreal Engine 4. I made it for my final project in a senior Game Writing class, where I had to turn a portion of a hypothetical level  into a playable segment with meaningful choices.

ANNWN

Your village is gone, destroyed by the Lord of the Hunt. To get your revenge, you must plunge into the depths of Annwn and find the mythical Sword of Annwn...

Annwn is a hack 'n' slash game developed by a team of four for a senior project class. It demonstrates my skills with AI, state machines, sword combat, and systems design.

Featuring motion capture animations, destructible environments, and tough enemies, Annwn is a game that pushed my development skills to the test.

Asimov

You boot up to find the space station empty and in dire need of repair. Fix the station, avoid the dangerous experiments left by the crew, and figure out why everyone's missing.

Originally starting out as a prototype for a senior project class, Asimov has turned into a game that truly exemplifies my knowledge and skills of game, level, and narrative design.

Developed by a team of three, this game is about the robotic unity ASIMo-V as it keeps a large space station running while trying to figure out whatever happened to the rest of the crew on board.

TowAR Defense

Aliens are invading the real world, and they can only be stopped by your magical towers and wits!

Developed for another senior project class, this game demonstrates my skills in game design, production, management,  UI design, and engineering.  With the class working as a full team, we turned a working prototype into a full-fledged game.

This game is unique in that it's an AR game played using physical cards. A combination of good tactics and strategy is required in order to defeat the aliens and send them packing!

Beginning as part of a Project Management class, Bloom blossomed into its own unique entity.

I developed the storyline of the project: the protagonist has lost their pet, and the color has gone out of the world. As the player goes through the game and solves puzzles, they bring the color back into the world.

This game was a lesson in proper time management, game scope, being on-time with tasks, and providing updates to shareholders.

BLOOM

My roles on this project included:

  • Game Design: I worked with my teammates to design the mechanics, puzzle types, and enemy types of the game.

  • Writer: I wrote the story of the game and worked with the artist to design the game's intro.

  • Level Design: I designed and built levels for the game, and added narrative to the teaching mechanics to make them more interesting.

  • Project Manager: I wrote up status reports, Gantt charts, stakeholder registers, and scope statements.

  • UI Designer: I worked with the artist to make the menus and UI of the game.

Board Games

Board games I've made for class or as personal projects.

Dyson's Fear

This project is unique in that it is a board game inspired by a video game. My concept for the game is Oregon Trail set in space. 7 players crash land on an alien Dyson Sphere, and have to escape before the star at the center collapses. It's a race against time and a struggle to survive as the team tries to find a way out - or kills each other in the process..

I'm currently revamping the gameplay and intend to write a side-story that accompanies the game. As one of my independent projects, I hope to push Dyson's Fear into production.
